RFSU Rehab, later renamed Etac is founded. Sverker Göthberg drives the vision of providing a new range of assistive devices with innovation, functionality and design in mind.

Danish company founded in 1986 by Werner Johansen, who after being hospitalised and watching his parents become more dependent on caregivers, saw the need for manual transfer solutions.

Norwegian company founded in 1981 by Hans Kasper Andresen, who after being hospitalised due to a heart attack saw the need for lifting and moving users in a secure way.

Danish company founded in 1982 by Erik Ernst, Flemming Møller and Lars Lykke, who with experience from the field saw the need for improved pediatric assistive devices.

Nordstjernan, a Swedish family-controlled, unlisted investment company, assumes full ownership of Etac. Nordstjernan already owned 60% of Etac since 2006.

American company founded in 1976 by Rachel and Merv Watkins who with experience from occupational therapy and mechanical engineering saw the need for special stroller-style push wheelchairs.

American company founded in 1995 by Kevin and Janice Fraser who saw the need for quickly providing custom cushions and mattresses to reduce risk of pressure ulcers.

American company founded in 1997 by David T. Davis who saw the need for air-assisted transfer and repositioning products to ensure a safer environment for both the patient and caregiver.

American company founded in 2005 by Doug Munsey and Murray Slagerman. Doug and Murray had extensive experience within the complex rehab industry and were determined to design and provide better mobility and seating solutions for users.
